Beyoncé – End Of Time (The Dirty Tees Remix)

Following the career of The Dirty Tees has been one of the cooler backseat experiences I’ve had since starting this blog.

The guys have always been super talented and as their releases increased people started to take notice. Originally hailing from Oakville, Ontario the duo produced a remix of Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Touch’ among other things in their first year. The track led to huge internet buzz and the songstress reached out to the guys. Suddenly they found themselves flying out to LA to work on some tracks with her and pursue a full time career in music. 

Flash forward a year and they are on the verge of taking things to the next level. A win in the Beyoncé remix competition would really help and with your vote we can make this happen.

Now this is a fresh remix. Phoenix based Djs Swookie Monster and Speedy Graffiti have teamed up for another remarkable remix under their TABS moniker.

They have taken the legendary collaboration ‘Move For Me’ from Kaskade & Deadmau5 and given it a face lift. A different pitch, an array of original instrumentals and a completely different vibe make this a big winner.

For North Americans, Eric Prydz has been a man of mystery. Never having stepped foot on American soil due to a fear of flying, we have heard his stellar productions but never been able to put a face to the music.

Alongside his aliases- Cirez D and Pryda, he has had another huge year with original mixes ’2night’, ‘Mirage’, ‘Mokba’ as well as an incredible remix of Digitalism- ‘Circles’.

Best Of 2011: Odds & Ends

Wrapping up the best tracks of 2011 hasn’t been easy. Over the past 12 months thousands of tracks were released in varying styles and with the popularity of genre blending, categorizing them has been a daunting task.

After revealing our Best Of’s Trance, Dubstep, House, Prog House, Electro, Tech House & Mashups we decided to highlight some of the tracks that just missed the cut.

For the sake of this ‘Best Of’ series and my sanity, we have picked our favourite tracks of 2011 based on genres categorized by Beatport. With that being said, our picks are purely based on personal taste and they give remixes the same weight as an original track.

One of our favourite up and comers is back with another remix. This time tackling a cover of the 1997 single from Force & Styles.

Ultrabeat covered the happy hardcore track in 2003 and it has once again changed hands to be transformed into a chilled out prog house mix.

A couple weeks ago we brought you  the Dillon Francis remix of Earthquakey People, a new track from Steve Aoki which features Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo. It received quite a good reception, but Andrew W.K. has give the track the remix treatment to show how a little tweaking can change the entire feeling of a song.

You probably wouldn’t even recognize the original song other than perhaps the chorus. Steve Aoki is almost completely removed from the track all together in the Trash Remix. But strangely I am completely ok with that.

Download A Free Remix Album from Young Galaxy

Do you like free music? Do you like remixes? Do you like Young Galaxy? I’m not stupid, despite what The Conductor implies…I know that the answer to those questions is yes. Well do we have a treat for you today.

Young Galaxy have given the remix treatment to 11 of their favourite songs from some of their favourite artists. I’ve worked my way through the album and I was extremely impressed.

First off, I respect the talent that Lady Gaga possesses. It’s not easy to pump out number 1 singles, but I absolutely hate what she stands for. The whole “born this way” gag is such a load of shit. You were born with face implants and having to wear giant costumes for every day life?

Anyways, I bring you a new remix of Electric Chapel simply for the fact that Two Door Cinema Club are one of my favourite bands and I feel obligated to post this. They actually make this song listenable and I am semi interested in seeing what else this Remix album has in store.

Thrice – Words In The Water (Polaris At Noon Remix) – Free Download

I’ve seen Thrice a few times in concert and each time I was amazed at the their live show, but they weren’t really a band that I’d go out of my way to listen to.

Well a few days ago they released this Polaris At Noon Remix of their track Words in the Water that has me reconsidering my earlier decision. I think I’ll be going through their back catalogue this week just to see what else I’ve missed out on.

My First Crush Burns The Clouds – DJ Stroke

My apologies, I had planned to bring this to you last night but completely forgot when I got home from work and never got back to my computer.

This is another great mashup from DJ Stroke, but would you expect anything less? This tune features aspects from Feed Me, Nero, Newton, Skrillex and Kaskade. Now my knowledge on these artists is slightly lacking so I wouldn’t be able to tell you which artists add which part to the song, but I’m sure The Conductor would be able to and he will love this track.

Just before Halloween Bunnyhop dropped a mini mix that provided the soundtrack for countless halloween parties. Well now that we are a full three days into the terrible month that is November Bunnyhop has something new for us.

Bunnyhop has done a live remix of Niia’s track Secrets of the Trade. It’s a chilled out tune that benefits from a slight electro tweak. The vocals are outstanding and this track is just what I needed to hear after a long day at the office, (ya I work at an office now).

Paul David is making some big moves straight out of Toronto, Ontario. Support has been pouring in from the likes of Chuckie, MYNC and Sebastian Ingrosso (to name a few) and the release of his track ‘In Lights’ on heavyweight label- CR2 Records didn’t hurt the cause.

Today he must have been in a giving mood because he dropped this fantastic remix for Capital Cities. A fun, housey beat filled with great vocals and a big room sound.
