So The Conductor texted me at 10:13 informing me that I am “slacking” because I haven’t posted anything on the new Chiddy Bang mini album yet.
First and foremost, this just proves to me that he doesn’t read my posts, and that he has no respect for Jersey Shore. He should know that between 10 and 11 on Thursday nights it is Jersey Shore time, no respect.
The Preview is going to be released in North America any day and was released in Australia today. I’ve heard it and although it has some previously used songs, the new material is pretty stellar.
Check out my favourite tune, Bad Boy, which features a Darwin Deez sample below.
I have blogged about the supergroup consisting of Artwork, Benga and Skream before but in case you missed it here we go again. These guys are going to swallow the dubstep/breaks/dnb scene, chew it up, and spit it out in one swift jaw dropping motion. Here are two tracks off the upcoming album which you can pre-order HERE or wait for the official release on October 11th.
Justin Vernon a.k.a. Bon Iver has invaded the rap scene lately. Working with the likes of Kanye and Rick Ross is a big accomplishment for any artist, especially an indie artist. Vernon rose to fame after the release of For Emma, Forever Ago in 2007. This album is outstanding and is a result of the break-up of Vernons band and seclusion in a log cabin. It can be best describe as:
All of his personal trouble, lack of perspective, heartache, longing, love, loss and guilt that had been stockpiled over the course of the past six years, was suddenly purged into the form of song.
Today a new song from Kanye and Bon Iver was released and although it is auto-tune, its pretty catchy. Check it out below. I’m not sure if this is a G.O.O.D. Friday tune or not, but it’s going in that collection in my itunes.
You may not know this, actually I don’t know how you would know this, but The Conductor and I are neighbours. When The Conductor goes out with friends and has one too many drinks, he likes to play pranks. But when I say pranks I mean he moves the fake plants that are on our floor to in-front of my door. This isn’t a one time thing, he has done it many times. He also once placed a banana on a string and hung it in-front of my door. Needless to say, he isn’t creative.
Well on Friday I exacted my revenge. I filled my garbage pail with water and leaned it against his door. I don’t want to brag but The Conductor went to class with wet feet.
What does this have to do with Young Jeezy? Nothing. I just wanted a reason to share my prank stories and with Jeezy’s new FREE mixtape entitled The Last Laugh, I thought it was the perfect way to incorporate my story. So check out Handle My Bizness below and download the mixtape for free by clicking on the album art. Enjoy!
Its sunny and 20 degrees here in Windsor. The unpredictable seasons that go down in the dub could lead one to believe that an Indian summer is on the horizon. I am probably wrong so lets just make the best of this beauty day. Here’s 2 chilled out progressive house tunes courtesy of heavy hitters EDX and DBN to accompany you on whatever you get up to on this lovely Wednesday afternoon.

Since dropping this at WMC 2010 this track has quickly become an anthem. The anticipation for its release was painful but since it dropped we have been rewarded with an abundance of remixes with many more to come. Here is the video which features a plethora of guest appearances including Kanye West, Dj Premier, Pharrell and Diplo just to name a few.
Check out the Sigma remix below as well as the original HERE and Afrojack’s Dirty Dutch remix HERE and look out for Duck Sauce woo ohhh oh wee oh
First off, Happy Birthday Weezy! Lil Wayne turns 28 today and what better way to celebrate than to release a full length LP.
You can pick up your copy from Itunes right now or you can wait till October to pick up a physical copy, but we both know you won’t.
This album was recorded before Wayne was locked up and was supposed to be the first tracks for the heavily anticipated Tha Carter IV. Instead I Am Not A Human Being has been given its own release and is acting as the precursor to Tha Carter IV.
Check out two tracks, Hold Up featuring T Streets as well as With You featuring Drake below. Then watch the video for the first single I Am Not A Human Being.
Last night was the season two premiere of The Cleveland Show on Fox and Kanye “Kenny” West made another guest appearance. With all the G.O.O.D. Friday stuff Kanye has going on right now it would seem like he is making a hard push to regain his position at the top of the rap game. Check out the video below.
Foals are a 5-piece indie band from England who have been released two outstanding albums and have been a band I’ve been watching for a while. Well this time they have truly out done themselves.
A couple months ago, The Conductor introduced us to Swedish House Mafia’s summer jam One by way of a remix thrown together by Kaskade. Well fast forward to September and Foals have released a cover of One (Your Name) and it is outstanding. Check it out below and be prepared to be amazed.
My girlfriend doesn’t come to this website. She supports me and whatever but refuses to visit this site. Mostly because I never write about her, so here I go. Today we went to the States for a little bit of shopping and on our way back down the I75 Ghetto Superstar came on the radio.
One thing lead to another and the radio got turned all the way up and she started to get her crunk on. So much so that she missed the exit and we ended up going miles past the bridge access. So let this be a lesson to you. When driving, keep your girlfriends ghetto meter in check.
Now enjoy Ghetto Superstar by Pras Mya and ODB. Don’t lie, you love this song.
As you can probably tell I am a sucker for remixes and mashups. Heres the newest bootleg of one of the most over-played songs of the summer (B.O.B-Nothin’ On You) mashed together with a chilled out prog house track from Leventina & EDX. Courtesy of Electric Eduard/Max DJ. Also, check out the dubstep/dnb remix from TC.
High pitched synths laced over house beats has led to a new genre of house music popularized by Dutch dj’s such as Sidney Samson, Chuckie and Afrojack. Also known as Dirty Dutch this style of music has been shredding dance floors worldwide and has no end in sight. Adam K & Soha are the newest artists to incorporate some dutch house into their music while Afrojack adds a new feel to the highly anticipated track from Duck Sauce.
My Chemical Romance started off as an emo band and then hit it big. Their radio success wasn’t surprising because of the talent of the band, but it was the social following that surprised everyone. I saw them open for Green Day being relatively unknown in March, and then saw them headline a show in the same venue in November.
But that was many years ago, and today their first single off the new record Danger Days: True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoy, to be released on November 22nd, has hit the airwaves. It has the smart title of Na Na Na and you can check it out below. Also there is an album teaser video that is worth watching.
Fences is actually a singer/songwriter named Chris Mansfield who is set to release his debut 10 song full length in the next little while. The self-titled release was produced by Canadian Sara Quin, of Tegan and Sara and is well worth the listen.
AP.net sums it up pretty well by saying;
With his debut record, Mansfield has managed to write ten such songs; taught, jangling, downcast pop songs that expose the crippling pain and ineffable beauty that comes from a true kind of love.
Say Anything is one of my favourite bands, always have been, always will be. So I was obliged to check out guitarist Jeff Turner’s side project They’re Ghouls.
I’ll be the first to admit, its a sound you either like or you don’t. Lo-fi garage style rock but catchy and melodic. The Dead Love Too is their debut 10 song full length that is available for purchase here. It was recored over 3 days and by a single mic by garage band, and if you’ve ever used a Mac you know how easy that is to do.
I like it. It’s something new and it’s always awesome to hear different sounds from people that make up your favourite bands. It is like seeing a slice of what makes up Say Anything and what influences them.
Check out the first video Dawn of the Living Dead below.
Hoodie Allen just released his new free mixtape Pep Rally and Ambassador Beats has it for you to download right now. All you gotta do is click on the album art to cop your free copy.
Hoodie Allen has made a name for himself as a storyteller and quick paced rapper. He has sampled some of the biggest indie bands included Marina and the Diamonds as well as Two Door Cinema Club. This mixtape certainly doesn’t disappoint.
If you are one of those people who likes to listen before you download you can stream the entire mixtape below. Check it out.
