Ambassador Beats was there to provide you with the drake leak and now the album of the year has officially dropped! To celebrate this occasion, Cookin’ Souls and Don Cannon have come together to release a full Remix Album.
One of the positive aspects, if there is a positive aspect to an album leak, is that we get more CDQ remixes faster.
Here’s the lead track off the remix album and click on Read More to check out a couple more tracks and the full album download.
Fireworks feat. Alicia Keys
After coming together on the Jay-Z and Game mixtape, The Red Album, Cookin’ Soul and Don Cannon have once again combined their efforts and have really come up with something special here. The Drake album itself its outstanding and I highly recommend it, but this collection of remixes offers something brand new to celebrate the release of Thank Me Later (Buy it from Itunes).
Possibly the one of the best things about the album, is that I finally know what Drake stands for. About a minute into Miss Me featuring Lil Wayne, Drake reveals his moniker stand for Do Right And Kill Everything. Check out the Cookin Souls/Don Cannon remix here.
Miss You feat. Lil Wayne – Drake (Cookin’ Souls Remix)
Thank Me Later is a classic, and it is definitely not too soon for me to be saying that either. You just watch, I bet this album sells a million in the first week, goes on to win Grammy awards and will probably sweep the BET Awards.
It may seem like Drake has just come out of no where, but he has been a pretty big underground sensation for a while. Some of his older fans are a bit upset with this overnight mainstream success, but why hate on him? He has always shown love for his fans and upon learning that his album leaked, Drake had this to say via twitter:
“I gave away free music for years so we’re good over here…just allow it to be the soundtrack to your summer and ENJOY! JUNE 15th!”
A pretty good way to look at it, and having the album remain private for this long is an accomplishment in itself. Lil Wayne should be very pleased with his disciple and we should expect great things in the future. With Lil Wayne getting released in November we can probably expect a new album from him in early 2011. Until then check out his verse, via telephone, on Drake’s Light Up.
Light Up feat. Jay-Z and Lil Wayne (Rikers Remix) – Drake
Lil Waynes verse is as follows for those of you who are hard of hearing, or aren’t quick enough to keep up.
Hate is temporary, love is necessary
I went from eating chickens to eating commissary
Damn, I am the sickest, I need therapy
You can buy the answers, but you can’t afford to question me
First off, I don’t need you second-guessing me
Feel just like Thursday, you comin’ home eventually
Still got shooters, like Hot Club
Man, I’m anemic, still got bloods
I’m in my cell, reading fan mail
Wish I was in Amsterdam, sippin’ Amstel
Thinking ’bout all of that kush that I can’t smell
Man, they did me wrong, I feel like Nelson Mandel, uh
I shine too hard, and my lamp fell
But my name still ringin’, Alexander Graham Bell
I know you met them, ’cause you know damn well
That I still got you open, open like a clamshell
Yeah, still fly, on my hawk shit
My conversations stinky, ’cause I talk shit
Stay in your lane, you on that double-talk shit
We eatin’ at the top, get a spoon and a forklift
I got rap wrapped up like a gift
And I’d be sober if it was a fifth
I’m feelin’ like Elvis, Jailhouse Rock
I’m not Tupac, I’m the new ‘Pac
Behind bars, but the bars don’t stop
Recording over the phone, hope the call don’t drop
Drizzy got the ball, I know the ball won’t drop
Then I pray none of my kids ever wanna be cops
Young Money get ‘em, Young Money got ‘em
Boss got his feet up, they cagin’ on the Island
Yeah, and tell your girl send the kite up
And even if you don’t smoke, motherfucker, you gon’ have to light up
